Culmington 9th October

Last Monday many pairs from our club joined members of the Craven Arms Bridge Club for their regular Monday afternoon of play. There was an initial slight glitch and we could not use the cunning movement designed to pit each member of one club against each member of the other with a single winner. However the substitute movement did allow plenty of competition against Craven Arms players.

The home advantage was telling. Craven Arms definitely came off better in the encounter with the top 2 pairs and 8 pairs in the top 10. Under those circumstances congratulations to Joy and Jane (playing under the false name of Janet for some reason) for 3rd place and Sue and Margaret for joint 8th place.

Good company, tea and cake, and an invitation to come and play on future Mondays. A return match was agreed at Whitton next Spring when evenings are lighter again.
